Baptist Medical and Dental Mission International is a nonprofit, Christian organization that spreads the message of salvation through the free grace of Jesus Christ, establishes indigenous churches, disciples believers, and provides theological preparation for Christian leaders. It also provides a channel through which to place full-time missionaries, as well to meet the needs of impoverished people on  the foreign field through medical-dental volunteer mission teams, children's homes, Christian schools, and benevolence.
Photos are from the Good Shepherd Christian Academy's computer lab. The lab currently has 12 working computers, all of which are donated by friends and volunteers of the BMDMI.

Technology available to third-world at GSCA

The donations of friends and volunteers of the BMDMI are making a difference in the lives of Central American children and teens.  theThis is evident in a unique way through the computer lab at  Good Shepherd Christian Academy.  The computers in the lab were all donated to the Mission, and then put into work to teach skills for a new generation.  Those living at the Good Shepherd Christian Home and attending the GSCA are learning skills that will enable them to get a job when it's their time to leave the Home.

But BMDMI Missionary and GSCA administrator Laurie Johnson shared an even more touching fact --- many of the children who attend GSCA's new colegio program are from the local community, not from the Home.  Most of these children come from homes that have no electricity or running water.  When they walk into the computer lab at GSCA, they are experiencing modern technology for the first time in their lives.

"How awesome is God to allow us this opportunity to open new minds to modern technology" said Johnson.  The opportunity it affords these children is not comprehendible when the world from which they come is considered.  To all who have contributed computers or other equipment to the school and other children's ministries of BMDMI, Laurie Johnson simply said "Bless you."
